AliExpress オーダーベース PU交換＆セットアップ DELANO MC-5AL / JC 5 AL M2

アリエクスプレスでオーダーし購入したベースのPU交換・セットアップです。

お客様持ち込みのデラノPUに交換です。

フロントはそのまま入ったがザグリ位置がズレている様子です。
またポールピースピッチが元の物と大きく違う事から弦の位置とデラノPUが大きく異なります。

リアもセンターライン位置からズレている上に少しサイズが合わず、そのままではザグリに入らない状態です。

また付いているブリッジの弦ピッチが16とかなり狭く、恐らく指板の幅から弦幅18ブリッジ位あっても問題無い様に思います。

フロントPUは弦からポールピースが大きくズレているが、実際に音を出してみると各弦が問題無く音を拾う事に驚きました。

リアPUは耳の位置が引っ掛かる為、少しボディのザグリを削り入りました。
リアPUのデラノは少しのズレでも音が小さく、1弦側を極端に上げ目にする事で音量がバランスする事ができました。
PU位置が低めだとリアPUは上手く音が拾えず各弦の音量差が大きくなります。

音が太く柔らかいサウンド、デラノPUがどれだけ良いか分かる結果になりました。

また付いてるナットがおかしく、ナット高が非常に高く溝もテキトーで隙間が大きい状態です。
しかも柔らかい素材で、弦を張るとナットに捻じれ発生し今にも割れそうな状態です。

これは確実にナット交換した方が良い状態です。
そのついでにブリッジもピッチが広い物に交換した方が良さそうです。
その他は特に問題無さそうです。

アリエクスプレスも激安でオーダーできる物が販売されているとはいえ、かなりの当たり外れが起こると思います。
こうした不具合をお金を掛けて直せるなら良いのかもしれませんが、確かにそれでも安いのは魅力的なのかもしれません。

This is a pickup replacement and setup for a bass ordered and purchased on AliExpress.

We’re replacing the pickups with Delano pickups provided by the customer.

The front pickup fit right in, but it appears the routing is misaligned.
Additionally, since the pole piece spacing differs significantly from the original, the string positions and the Delano pickup are quite different.

The rear pickup is also misaligned from the centerline and doesn’t quite fit in size, so it won’t fit into the cutout as is.

Furthermore, the string spacing on the installed bridge is quite narrow at 16; given the width of the fingerboard, I think a bridge with a string spacing of around 18 would likely work just fine.

Although the pole pieces on the front pickup are significantly offset from the strings, I was surprised to find that each string was picked up without any issues when I actually played it.

The rear pickup’s mounting position was catching on my ear, so I had to shave down the body cutout slightly.
With the Delano rear pickup, even a slight misalignment reduces the volume, but I was able to balance the volume by raising the side near the 1st string significantly.
If the pickup is mounted too low, the rear pickup won’t pick up the sound properly, resulting in a large difference in volume between the strings.

The result was a rich, mellow sound—proof of just how good the Delano pickups are.

Also, the nut that came with it is in poor condition—the nut height is extremely high, the grooves are poorly cut, and there are large gaps.
On top of that, it’s made of a soft material, so when the strings are tensioned, the nut twists and looks like it’s about to crack at any moment.

This definitely calls for a nut replacement.
While I’m at it, it would probably be best to replace the bridge with one that has wider string spacing.
Other than that, there don’t seem to be any particular issues.

Even though AliExpress sells items you can order for rock-bottom prices, I think there’s a significant hit-or-miss factor.
It might be fine if you’re willing to spend money to fix these kinds of issues, but it’s certainly true that the low price is still appealing.

ZEMAITIS A22SU 3S BLACK PEARL DIAMOND 配線直し＆セットアップ EMG RPC

ゼマイティス製A22SUの配線直し・セットアップです。

今回はEMGから販売されているトレブルブースター「RPC」の増設依頼です。

現在はトーンカットしている状態で、そこにEMGのRPCを増設する事となりました。

こちらはエフェクターを内蔵する様な形で、基盤が付いたポットをホット配線の間に接続するだけです。

注意点としてこのRPCを動作させる為に電池が必要になるので、ザグリスペースに注意が必要です。

トレブルブースターの様な音なので、高域が足りないギターや音がコモる傾向のギターには活躍できるパーツと思います。

This is a rewiring and setup job for a Zemaitis A22SU.

This time, the request was to install an EMG “RPC” treble booster.

The guitar currently has a tone cut circuit, and we’ll be adding the EMG RPC to that setup.

This is installed much like a built-in effects pedal; you simply connect the potentiometer with the circuit board to the hot wiring.

Please note that a battery is required to power this RPC, so you’ll need to ensure there’s enough space in the routing.

Since it produces a sound similar to a treble booster, I think this is a great component for guitars that lack high frequencies or tend to sound muddy.

PRS SE CE24 ペグ交換＆セットアップ

PRS SE製CE24のペグ交換・セットアップです。

GOTOHペグに交換です。

元のペグは特に無メーカー品の物が付いていると思いますが、GOTOH製に交換すると音が以前より太くなった様に思います。

GOTOH製は金属が硬いのか他のペグよりも重量がある様子で音も硬質になる傾向に思います。

パーツは音にも影響するので、交換してみると面白いです。

This is a peg replacement and setup for a PRS SE CE24.

I replaced the pegs with GOTOH pegs.

I think the original pegs were unbranded, but after switching to GOTOH pegs, the sound seems fuller than before.

Perhaps because the metal is harder, GOTOH tuners seem heavier than other brands, and I feel the tone tends to be a bit harder as well.

Since parts affect the sound, it’s interesting to try swapping them out.

YAMAHA RSP20 セレクター交換

ヤマハ製RSP20のセレクター交換です。

セレクターにガリがあり交換しました。

スーパースイッチが付いているモデルですが、片側は使用していないモデルです。
5接点×2のセレクターが必要なので、通常の5Wayで交換対応ができないモデルになるのでご注意下さい。

内部は電源トランスの様なコイルを搭載し、ブースタースイッチの様な回路を搭載。
フォーカススイッチと呼ばれる機能を搭載しています。

サウンド面では元のクリーン音も良く、フォーカススイッチによりモダン系のハイゲインも出せる仕様です。
電池を使用せずエフェクター（ブースター）を内蔵している様なギターです。

This is a selector switch replacement for a Yamaha RSP20.

The selector switch was making a scratchy noise, so I replaced it.

Although this model is equipped with a Super Switch, one side of it is not in use.
Please note that this model requires a selector switch with 5 contacts × 2, so a standard 5-way switch cannot be used as a replacement.

The interior features a coil similar to a power transformer and a circuit similar to a booster switch.
It also includes a feature called the “Focus Switch.”

In terms of sound, the original clean tone is excellent, and the Focus Switch allows you to produce modern-style high-gain tones as well.
It’s a guitar that incorporates a built-in effects unit (booster) without requiring batteries.

Tokai ストラトキャスター配線直し＆セットアップ Rugir Pickups ArqueNote

トーカイ製ストラトキャスターのPU交換・ポット交換・セットアップです。

お客様持ち込みのポット×3、ルジールPUに交換です。

最近は良さに気が付いた人が購入しているPUですね。

パワーが無いヴィンテージタイプだが音抜けが良くコード鳴りが綺麗で、リアは少し出力が高く全体バランスが良いPUです。

これはストラトキャスターとして理想的なサウンドに思います。
フロントからリアまでここまで良いバランスしたサウンドを出せるのは意外と無いので、ArqueNoteは一般的に流通した方が良いPUですね。

This is a pickup and pot replacement and setup for a Tokai Stratocaster.

We replaced the pickups with three pots provided by the customer and Luzier pickups.

These are pickups that people have been buying lately after realizing how good they are.

Although they’re vintage-style pickups with lower output, they have excellent projection and a clean chord tone; the bridge pickup has slightly higher output, resulting in a well-balanced overall sound.

I think this is the ideal sound for a Stratocaster.
It’s surprisingly rare to find a pickup that delivers such a well-balanced sound from the neck to the bridge, so ArqueNote pickups really deserve to be more widely available.

スクワイヤーテレキャスターカスタムピックガード交換

スクワイヤー製テレキャスターカスタムのピックガード交換です。

今回はピックガード交換のみの内容になります。

ビス穴ズレはあるが、付けれるレベルの為、お客様との相談でそのまま付ける事となりました。

ピックガード交換の際、必ずビス穴がズレると思った方が良いです。

ビス穴は穴半分もズレが発生した箇所は埋めて空け直しした方が良いですが、正直無理矢理付ける事も可能です。

見た目の問題となるので、気になるなら直せば良いし付くならどうでも良いって思っても問題ありません。

特にビスは複数個所で止まっていればOKなので、穴ズレが大きい所はそもそもビス止めしない手段もOKです。
トラブルにならない程度にビス止めが出来さえすれば、弾く分に問題は起きません。

音が良いモデルで、スクワイヤーは低価格帯ながら非常に良いサウンドを出せるのでお勧めメーカーです。

This is a pickguard replacement for a Squier Telecaster Custom.

This time, the work consists solely of replacing the pickguard.

Although the screw holes were misaligned, the misalignment was minor enough that it could still be installed, so after consulting with the customer, we decided to install it as is.

When replacing a pickguard, it’s best to assume that the screw holes will be misaligned.

If a screw hole is misaligned by even half its diameter, it’s best to fill it and drill a new one, but honestly, it’s possible to force it in.

Since this is primarily a cosmetic issue, you can choose to fix it if it bothers you, or simply ignore it if the pickguard fits—either approach is fine.

As long as the pickguard is secured by screws in multiple locations, it’s okay to skip screwing it into holes where the misalignment is significant.
As long as the pickguard is secured well enough to avoid any issues, it won’t affect your playing.

This is a model with great sound; Squier is a brand I highly recommend because it delivers excellent tone despite being in the lower price range.

West レスポールカスタム配線直し＆セットアップ

ウエスト製レスポールカスタムの配線直し・セットアップです。

楽器屋で中古購入したばかりとの事ですが弦高が高く非常に弾き難い事と、ノイズが非常に多いです。

よくこの状態で販売できたよな…ってレベルの状態です。お店の品質が相当低下してるなと感じます。

ノイズが多い事もチェックしてみるとブリッジアースが通電しておらず、チェックしてみると配線が切れており手で簡単にブリッジアース配線が引っこ抜けました。

ノイズの原因はブリッジアース不良です。

お金を掛けたくない、すぐに済ませ持ち帰りたいとの要望もあり表側のエスカッションから配線を出してブリッジアースを取る事となりました。
エスカッションもアーチトップに合った形状じゃないので配線が無加工で通せる隙間は空いており、ブリッジにワッシャーを加工したアース線を乗せてブリッジアースを取りました。
ブッシュのスタッドを抜くのは専用工具の「プーラー」が必要になります。
大体はブッシュを抜く際にかなり硬いので、結構苦労します。

セットアップし弾き易く仕上げました。

パワーがあり歪みは良さげです。
Gibsonのダーティフィンガーに音が似てると思います。

This is a wiring repair and setup for a West Les Paul Custom.

The customer said they had just purchased it used from a music store, but the string action was too high, making it very difficult to play, and there was a lot of noise.

It was in such poor condition that I couldn’t help but wonder, “How did they even sell this in this state…?”

When I checked the excessive noise, I found that the bridge ground wasn’t conducting electricity. Upon further inspection, I discovered the wiring was broken, and I could easily pull the bridge ground wire out by hand.

The cause of the noise was a faulty bridge ground.

Since the customer didn’t want to spend much money and wanted to get it done quickly so they could take it home, we decided to route the wiring through the front escutcheon to establish the bridge ground.
The escutcheon wasn’t shaped to fit an archtop, so there was enough space to run the wiring through without any modifications. We placed a ground wire with a custom-machined washer on the bridge to establish the bridge ground.
Removing the studs from the bushings requires a special tool called a “puller.” They’re usually quite stiff, so it can be quite a struggle.

We set it up and finished it so it’s easy to play.

It has plenty of power, and the distortion sounds great.
I think the tone is similar to Gibson’s Dirty Finger.

FenderMexico ストラトキャスターセットアップ

フェンダーメキシコ製ストラトキャスターのセットアップです。

新品購入したばかりとの事ですが、かなり弦高が高く弾き難い状態です。

調整して触ってみるとトラスロッドの余り量が残り少ない状態で、新品でこの状態から使い続けるとなると恐らく長持ちはしないと思います。

現在は木材強度が昔と比べて非常に劣るので、新品でも弦張力に負けて大きく順反りします。

それをトラスロッドの調整で真っ直ぐに直すので、新品でも最初から多くトラスロッドが使われます。

だから新品でもトラスロッドに余裕が少ない物が多くなっています。

現実ではそうした柔らかいネックはしばらくすると順反りする為、それらを調整すると新品でもトラスロッドが限界近い個体が普通に販売されているのが現状です。

当然ながらそうした状態なので、使用を続けて順反りしていきトラスロッドの調整で直せる範囲を超えてきたらもうダメです。

新品時点でトラスロッドに余裕が少ない楽器はそうした楽器を買ってしまう意味でもあるので、購入前に必ず目の前で正しく調整できた上でトラスロッドを回させて余り量を確認して買わないと損です。

この辺りの情報はYoutubeや過去ブログ記事で紹介しておりますので参照下さい。

新品の時点でトラスロッドの余り量が少ない楽器はまず間違い無く長持ちしない楽器と判断して問題ありません。

This is a setup for a Fender Mexico Stratocaster.

You mentioned you bought it brand new, but the string action is quite high, making it difficult to play.

There’s very little truss rod adjustment left, and if you continue playing it in this condition right out of the box, I don’t think it will last very long.

Nowadays, the strength of the wood is significantly inferior to what it used to be, so even brand-new guitars often warp significantly under string tension. Since the truss rod is used to straighten them out, a lot of adjustment is used up right from the start.
That’s why many brand-new guitars have very little truss rod adjustment left.

Naturally, in this condition, the neck will continue to bow forward as you play, and once it exceeds the range that can be corrected by adjusting the truss rod, the instrument is beyond repair.
Since buying an instrument with little truss rod adjustment range right out of the box is essentially the point of purchasing such an instrument, you’ll be wasting your money if you don’t have the dealer adjust it correctly right in front of you before buying—and let you turn the truss rod yourself to check the remaining adjustment range.

HISTORY Advanced PU交換＆ポット交換＆セットアップ Dimarzio DP192 DP193 Air Norton Air Zone

ヒストリー製アドバンスのPU交換・ポット交換・セットアップです。

PUはお客様持ち込みのディマジオ製DP192・DP193に交換とポットはCTSに交換です。

フロントは太さがあるが音抜けが良く、リアは歪みの乗りが良く太さも抜けの良さもありバランスが良いサウンドでした。

ディマジオは昔から音の良さで有名で、ダンカンよりもディマジオが売れている理由もよく分かります。

「ディマジオは優等生」って言葉が昔からありますが、その理由として低価格でカタログ通りの音が鳴る安定感が信頼に繋がっていると思います。

This is a pickup and pot replacement and setup for a History Advanced model.

The pickups were replaced with DiMarzio DP192 and DP193 models provided by the customer, and the pots were replaced with CTS units.

The front pickup has a full-bodied tone with excellent projection, while the rear pickup delivers great distortion response, combining both richness and clarity for a well-balanced sound.

DiMarzio has long been renowned for its sound quality, and it’s easy to see why DiMarzio sells better than Duncan.

There’s an old saying that “DiMarzio is the top student,” and I believe the reason for this is the reliability that comes from their low price and consistent performance—they sound exactly as advertised.

Bacchus Global Series BST-24 SSH スイッチ交換＆セットアップ

バッカス製BST-24のスイッチ交換・セットアップです。

メルカリで購入したとの事ですが非常に状態が悪く、素人作業されている箇所が目立ちます。

ブリッジのビスも曲がって付いていたり、恐らく交換してみたがビスのピッチが合わない物を無理矢理付けていたりしてます。

セレクターの状態が悪く交換し、安定して音が出せる状態になりました。

セットアップしてみるとフレット状態が非常に悪く、音詰まり箇所が多くまともに弾く事ができません。

メルカリは当然ながら素人が販売している事も多く、説明文に無い状態の悪さが買った後から分かる事も多いです。
ただ値段を聞くと、付いているパーツ代を考えたら得はしているのでこの辺りはどう考えるか購入者次第です。

この感じだと私の場合はパーツ代で得してるから本体は気にしないと思いますが、これらパーツが付いていなかったら返品レベルです。
最悪付いてるパーツを売ったら買った値段以上で売れはするので、損な買い物では無いかもしれません。

This is a switch replacement and setup for a Bacchus BST-24.

The owner mentioned purchasing it on Mercari, but it was in very poor condition, with obvious signs of amateur work.

The bridge screws were bent, and it appeared that the owner had tried replacing them but had forced in screws with the wrong pitch.

The selector switch was in poor condition, so I replaced it, and the guitar now produces a stable sound.

Upon setting it up, I found the frets to be in very poor condition, with many spots where the strings get caught, making it impossible to play properly.

As is often the case with Mercari, many items are sold by amateurs, and it’s common to discover issues not mentioned in the description only after purchasing.
However, considering the cost of the parts already installed, the buyer is actually getting a good deal—so whether to accept this or not is up to them.

In my case, since I’m saving on parts, I don’t mind the condition of the body itself, but if these parts weren’t included, I’d definitely return it.
At worst, I could sell the included parts for more than I paid for the guitar, so it might not be a total loss.
